Rockies Mojo IPA

Just arrived in town and damn, it's a pretty darned good IPA. The hoppy flavour has that certain, what I like to call, "twang"; Probably dry hopped or maybe hop oils are used?

Anywhoo, my retailer said a lot of new beers will be coming to town because of the Old Chicago that will be opening soon. Can I hear a hip, hip, hooray?

Best regards, Bill

The Mojo and their Hazed and Infused are part of their looking glass series, both are dry hopped I'm pretty sure, and are among the best of the series. The Killer Penguin winter ale is pretty good too. I hated Sweaty Betty though.

What the hell is Sweaty Betty, anyway? Just heard of it first time today, and I'm gonna be drinking it next week.

Hi Lew,

It's a blonde wheat beer...malted wheat, 2 row pale malt and hallertau hops. I haven't tried it cuz it's not here.

I *do* like the Boulevard wheat that's in town trading pump handles with the, yuck, O'Dells.

Best regards, Bill

It looked nice and cloudy with a yellowish rather than orangish glow. The taste was disappointing standard American wheat - no effervesence (roiling?), clove or phenolics in the example I had but kind of a strange thick mouthfeel that muted any flavors bold enough to try and break through. Kind of like that scene in Nightmare on Elm Street 2 when Freddy stretches out through the wall and it looks like it's made of latex. It did not dance. I did not dance, rather I wept great tettnanger tears.

Funny name, not necessarily appealing name. A Belgian wit style. My sample of it was vegetal and nasty.

Enjoy! That's some good wheat brew.

I loved Betty, but I didn't care for the Penguin.
