Good call.

For those of you who don't know this pub it is a 'proper pub' (The locals are friendly enough if you make a little effort.) AND From 1st Jan this year is no smoking except in a shed out the back - Hooray! [I've just had to put all tonight's clothes from another fine but smoky Dengie pub in the washer]

Worth a visit any time. Normally Mild available (On Sunday just about all the Rapper dancers were drinking it as a matter of course.)

For people living in SE Essex/E London you can have a day out on the Dengie by train.

  • Station Arms, Southminster (Free)
  • Queen's Head, Burnham-on-crouch (Grays, new tenant absolutely no GK)

For those with a driver, the Blue Boar in Maldon should be on your itinerary but take your own entertainment as although the beer (mainly but not exclusively Farmer's) is superb, the atmosphere is rather more a bar than a pub.
