Russian River Damnation

I just got a couple of 750's direct from the brewery and after opening one and letting it warm up a bit, hey, this is some *good* stuff! Reminds me of the Duvel I had some time in the past. ;^)

It's a beautiful cloudy light gold with an ever present head and nice lacing and the banana sweetish notes mixed with the citrusy bitter tones make for a very enjoyable sipper. I'll gladly buy this again!

You'll never go wrong with a beer from Russian River. Vinnie Cilurzo has been setting the height of the bar among California brewers for about 12 years.

Only problem RR has is that they're running out of words that end in "ion" -- when you get to Perdition and Supplication it's a stretch.

If you like big, well balanced IPAs try his Pliny The Elder -- I think you can order that direct from the brewery as well.

I don't think so. The only beers I've ever seen for sale on their website in the past year is the Damnation, Supplication, Sanctification, and Temptation. Usually only the Damnation is available, though.

Nope!

I called the brewery the other day and they told me P/E is available only on draft. They bottle none of it. I forgot to ask if they sell it directly. Some breweries will fill your corny keg for $40-50. Fortunately, there's one last alternative. Learn to brew beer. P/E is available as a brew kit from More Beer:

I've had 3 of their beers so far and none disappointed in the least.

lol.

I tried both the Elder and the Younger at the GABF and really preferred the wildness of the Younger.

Likewise -- I only mentioned the Elder because I thought they'd begun bottling it -- obviously I was mistaken -- once you get into draft RR the menu expands significantly.

This thread inspired me to crack open my last Temptation last night. Oak- aged beers generally don't thrill me, but I make an exception for RR's. Damn good stuff.
