Compact burr grinder

Jun 11, 2005 0 Replies

Hello,

I've recently been given a Krups GVX2 burr grinder, but it appears that it cannot grind fine enough for my expresso machine. Maybe it would be possible to fix it up a bit, by inserting a wedge to lower the upper mill. Does someone has tried and succeeded?

Instead of intending such a modification, I think I'll return the Krups and buy another one. My local store sells:

- Petra 60 euros - Krups 70 euros - Riviera & Bar 100 euros - Saeco 120 euros - Kitchenaid 200 euros

I've read some opinions about Capresso Infinity and Solis Maestro Plus. I haven't seen any in stores here (in France), but if one of them really meets my needs, I could order it from Amazon US.

What would you recommend to me?

A few more details: - I mostly drink expresso, - I make 1-3 cups a day (at home), - I haven't enough room in my kitchen to get a big grinder; something as compact as the Krups or Saeco would be perfect.

Cheers,
