recommendations for electric burr grinder?

Anybody have recommendations for an electric burr grinder? I'm trying to stick to the $100 - $150 dollar range. I've heard the Saeco MC 2002 is pretty good. I'm not making espresso; I just want a very consistent grind for my vacuum pot and French press. Thanks for any advice.

In the event you or someone else is interested, I am in San Rafael, CA, and have a Mazer commercial grinder which looks similar to a commercial espresso grinder except it has a chute to grind into containers or bags as opposed to the dispenser on the espresso grinder. Asking $250, but will come down to $225. It weighs a ton so presume it has huge windings as well a heavy duty shell.

I have the La Pavoni. It works really well.

In that price range, the Solis Maestro Plus can't be beat. Just got mine a few weeks ago. I use it daily for a vac pot.

I should have posted this link:

$149--includes shipping, I think.

No offense, but this is a poor quality grinder. La Pavoni makes some higher end grinders, but this is a rebadged third-party grinder... I forget the OEM, offhand.

Sorry, but I am not familiar with home models. This one is a commercial model and quite old, but has only been used a couple of times in the last five years. Forgot all about it and recently found it on the back of a shelf in my warehouse, and in all probability a deli or restaurant customer will grab it up at that price. The Bodum Antigua can generally be had for around $69 or so. It grinds very consistently for vac, drip, and press... and can even be tweaked for espresso in a pinch. I've fed at least 2 lbs. a week through one for over two years, and it's still going strong.

The below link goes to an excellent site giving detailed reviews on the grinders:

The Solis Maestro Grinder looks good in the price range you specified.

"this one"? Which one? Are you the guy who offered the used Mazer for about $100 more than the OP wanted to spend?

I went through this a few months ago. One thing to consider is what kind of beans you are going to be grinding. Some of the grinders I considered got poor reviews on the oilier beans, such as French Roast. I almost bought the Solis Maestro, but saw complaints about it when used on oily beans, in fact I saw someone selling an almost new one because it did not work well with French Roast beans. The Saeco MC2002 also had complaints about the need for periodic agitation to keep oily beans flowing, something I also experienced on the cheaper Braun burr grinder. But if you use the less oily beans, these grinders should be fine.

I finally bought the Bodum Antigua because the comments and reviews said that it was good for French Roast. Sells for between $53 and $79. It's worked well for about four months so far.
