Dunkin Donuts coffee/New England Coffee Question

I'm new here so forgive me if this is the wrong place to ask this or if it's been asked a million times or if it's just a stupid question!!

I love Dunkin Donuts coffee. I recently learned that the New England Coffee Co roasts the Dunkin Donuts coffee.

Does that mean I can buy New England Coffee blend and it will taste like Dunkin Donuts coffee? Does anyone know which blend of New England Coffee is the most similar to Dunkin Donuts Original Blend?

Thanks for any help! This would be great if true!

I would suggest contacting New England Coffee.

Oh, it's alright. Just be sure to stay awhile and get a feel for what's talked about. Soon you'll be roasting your own and laughing at Dunkin' Donuts coffee! (not really...but it's somewhat like that).

Good questions. No clue. Neither or them are particularly low in price, so I'm not sure of your motivation for asking. And if you would like to find out, you could call, or simply try both and compare.

On another note, I honestly like Dunkin' Donuts. It's not bad coffee and soon they're supposed to be starting to use Fair Trade. I mean, it's not particularly unique or exotic, but on some mornings where there isn't time to brew my own at home, or some weeks when I don't have time to roast, I'm not opposed to their coffee. It is funny though--they're the only place in this country where you can go in and ask for a regular coffee and they'll put cream and sugar in it for you.

I found that regular coffe meant cream and sugar at most restaurants in Boston and just assumed it was a local thing....

I love it too! But not necessarily the already brewed kind from the store, which, if fresh, is okay, but seems to have a strange and unique foreign flavor all its own. I buy the bean and grind it at home, and strangely it does not have that flavor.

In fact, after running all over New York City trying often more expensive beans from places like Fairway, Zabars, Eli's, etc., it's become my fallback standard weekly purchase. It's consistent, fairly cheap (the recent two lbs for $10 holiday special was a godsend to a cheap-o like me) and it has the flavor I like, all high-note and winey with a bite, kind of like Zabar's Kenya AA (except without Zabar's consistency problems). I also love that I can travel anywhere and not have to worry if I run out.

Only speaking for myself, I could never purchase from a company that has the #@&! to state on the opening page of their www. screen, " We use only top-quality coffee brands, including Maxwell House, Starbucks, Martinson, Folgers."

IMHO both their quality and judgment are open to question. Definitely not a flame, just one persons opinion.
