15th century puerh

her is a picture (I hope it works) of Pu-erh taken at the forbidden palace in Tianmen square, beijing. If I remember right the plaque said early 1500's. For all the lexi buffs here sorry the script isn't clearer:->...

We can't make out the writing very clearly, but it appears to just be some information about Pu'er or maybe a poem that somebody written. I have seen boxes like that at market, so if they claimed it to be

1500's, it is undoubtably a forgery or reproduction of something from that era.

I wouldn't touch that tea with a 10-foot pole, though. It looks like somebody threw it in the ditch and then let it dry in the sun. Is this in the famous Lao She's tea house by chance?

I do not know by looking how old that tea is, but I would be willing to try it...Two washings and then we would see if it is good. Even if it is 50 years old it could be good. Thanks for the pic...

Firstly, 50 (or aged to the point that it would be valuable) year old tea would not be stored in such a simple way. Secondly, the outside of the tea looks too dirty to have been stored correctly; probably without a wrapper, in direct sunlight, and was undoubtly 'wet stored' or watered. I guess I would try it if I saw somebody else try it first. heh.

I remember seeing something like this in a different packaging, and they're dirt cheap.

Don't buy it unless it's 1) cheap and 2) the box is what you're after.

MUSEUM at the forbiden palace. Anyway, whilst at the place I had a cuppa joe from the starbucks outlet that is inside. I couldn't resist. I felt shameless toting around my starbucks cup :->
