Anyone dealt with Beijing-based Golden Tea House (a vendor)?

After searching RFTD for some tip on this vendor

formatting link
I couldn't find much comment or information, except that it is recommended by Danica. Their website does not provide a physical address, and that's why I seek your advice.

Anyone has any experience with this Beijing-based vendor?

Thanks in advance!

Judging a book entirely by its cover, it looks good. I'd love to hear if anyone's had some experience with them. Some of the prices on the upper-end wulong look pretty competitive, if their teas are of good quality. I wonder!

From their shipping information: "All orders generally ship from our Montreal office..."

Hi Phyll,

These guys are terrific and sell extremely high-quality tea. The person who chooses their teas is a woman who is either a tea master or tea is a spiritual way of life for her. If you taste a variety you can sense her attitude and style in the teas she selects.

They specialize in Wuyi teas and Anji Bai Cha, and sell over 100 varieties of green, oolongs, and puerh--not all listed on the website. I have had their guan yin wang (fragrant and delicious), their Da Hong Pao, Qi Dan, Shui Xian, Rou Gui and Tie Luo Han (all of extremely high quality, both regular and premium) and their first-grade looseleaf puer is exactly as advertised. Of all the decorative green tea balls I have tried (those things that burst into flower) theirs actually taste great.

They have a warehouse in Montreal run by a rabbi's son named Joel Shuchat who is extremely communicative and well-versed in his products. The delivery time because of this is short, and they always include samples. Highly recommended!

Hi Danica,

Is this the Joel of Capital Teas, also based in Montreal? BTW, had he been the son of a Catholic priest, I would have perked up at once! But in either case, the significance of his father's profession eludes me.

The Joel of Capital Teas plies his trade in Toronto. Sadly, I have nothing to report on his parentage.

Thanks, Danica, for the recco. Joel Shuchat contacted me previously and we exchanged a few emails. I'll contact him again for some Wuyi, which he mentioned it's his business partner's speciality. It would be nice to have some good online sources for Wuyi oolongs...I've been downing a lot of it lately.

Are you making fun of me? I am a film producer and love the fascinating details that make up people's characters.

I think it makes all the difference. If Danica had said "...run by a local mafia boss' son named...," that would probably make me think twice (or more) before getting some Wuyi oolong from him.

[Michael] Not really. Just playing with ideas, even bad ones; mine, that is, certainly not yours. I love film, but my training is in religion and anthropology. Sorry for flipancy, not my best quality. Are you perhaps Danish? Michael [Michael's earlier offending post for context]
