new(ish) harvest of green teas

I am considering an order from either Rishi or Tao of Tea. Rishi is always great, but has anybody ordered from ToT this year. I can effectively halve again my order (and get a Gaiwan and free shipping)if I go wi' The Tao. But I don't want to have a pound of assorted 'waste' lying around. Drinking Ginger Lime Rooibos from Rishi. Cheers, Lyn

The last pick was Spring. You have to wait a few more months for the next picking in the Autumn, but it's not as good as the Spring when it comes to greens.

Anyway, it's still acceptable to guy Spring greens; Chinese greens, that is. I just picked up a half kilo of some decent longjing at a cut-rate price!

Actually some Bancha will be picked soon if I'm not mistaken, I believe a few others as well. I'm not as up on the pick times for end of summer greens for the reason you stated, but I may get some late harvest bancha in my quest for a more fishy tasting green. A number of places bypass the summer pick, and pick up with the Autumn for bancha, but some do it if there is tea to be had. I'm more ignorant of the many varieties of Chinese greens and harvest times/quality since I mainly drink Japanese green teas or more mainstream and well known china green tea. The internet is your friend though, and I'm sure you can find some Summer picked green... I haven't began looking yet due to not having the time, but next week I will... vaca time.

Ya, I was talking about Chinese teas. I know little about Japanese teas and their pick times. Just the reverse of you.
