seeking Champagne Oolong

Sep 01, 2003 2 Replies

Hi all

I'm pretty new to gongfu brewing, have been practicing with my 6 oz and 3 oz yixing pots. So far, I have a Pouchong I purchased from a shop in San Francisco (no English on label, maybe someone wants to translate for me :-) ), TenRen's Dark Oolong 3rd grade, and what TenRen gave me in the NYC store when I asked for Champagne Oolong

What I want to do is find this Champagne Oolong elsewhere online. TenRen does not offer this on their site. It is their 2nd grade champagne. Doesn't have to be the same but similar

For those of you familiar with TenRen's dark oolong, I find it to be too dark. Pouchong is nice but too green for me most of the time. Champagne falls nicely in the middle, as being fairly oxidixed, no bitterness, not too nutty or roasty and lighter than the dark oolong

I hope this makes sense...

Thanks,

-ben

Specialteas - first place I ordered any teas online and I always forget about them anyway :-)

Thanks, I'll try this out

Michael,

Your note reminds me that Rishi Tea carries a very expensive Bai Hao in which I have resisted indulging (on account of price) for quite some time. Everything I have tried from Rishi Tea has been top notch quality. (I've already lauded their Yunnan Golden Needles in this ng...)
