taking loose tea out with us

We've had several threads on this subject but I just found an implement which might be of help to someone.

We used to camp a lot and in the camping section of Walmart (at the time) I used to find filter bags for coffee which were suspended in the Hot water by a stick laid across the cup (don't know if they are still there). The filters included had a hole punched in the top with a hole punch and the stick was plastic with nobs at both ends.

This would be real easy to rig with any filter bags available on the market (T-Sacs for instance) and wouldn't close at the top as they would if laid on the side of the cup so you would get more space to allow the tea leaves to move. The stick could be anything, but in my mind a good one would be the hair sticks sometimes found in the hair care section or if you know someone who does small wood lathe projects, walnut or cherry would be good woods for this project, OR, there is a hand craft called bobbin lace and the bobbins wouldn't be a bad alternative. You can buy those on the web, but in lots of six I believe. LOL

ANyway, I thought how convenient to carry in pocket or purse.

Just a thuoght, Kitty
