Best "cheap" scotch for mixing?

My wife gets be a bottle of Glenlivit 15yo SM once a year for my b-day. I like to drink it on the rocks (mainly when the inlaws are in town.. LOL!).

Lately I've been drinking a lot of rob roys while out for dinner. I don't think I want to use this expensive stuff to mix drinks with..

Since most bars that make a good one use just a plain bar pour scotch (or rail scotch as some call it), can anyone make a suggestion as to what I should try?

Thanks!

IMHO, Teacher's Highland Cream is the only blend worth buying, because other blends are either too expensive to justify or too lousy to drink. Teachers is cheap, and worthy of being drunk neat...which is the only way I drink scotch, period.

I have to agree. Teachers is my preferred blend - cheap and good on its own or with a mixer.
