It is unfortunate that globablization leads to a homogenization of product- most producers want to produce something that will appeal to the widest range of consumers, which means that they make something that tastes like everything else on the market.
That's why I make my own wine- I know what I like, and it's not the standard stuff in the liquor store. "Everyone" seems to love chardonnay- a grape that I cannot stand; I prefer a wine so rich, sweet and fruity that it would put Herr Lowenstein into cardiac arrest.
