Dalwhinnie not a winner?

Well, most people here I expect would find your dislike of other malts you mentioned in the other post incredibly hard to believe!
In my opinion it's a fine dram, but nothing too special. Ardbeg, Talisker and Laphroaig Cask Strength *are* definitely among the very best!

Well now, that is most definitively a matter of taste. Personally I prefer Dalwhinnie over Ardbeg and laphroaigh.... or any Islay whisky for that matter. Talisker on the other hand, wins it from Dalwhinnie. For me, that is.....

That's a hell of a lot of whisky. It took me over 20 years to get hold of a bottle of malt from all current distilleries, and with the plethora of different ages, and different independent bottlings there's an almost limitless variety available. I'm beginning to have a lot of sympathy for Odie's liver.

Sympathy for his liver, perhaps, but a definite jealous streak for the apparent size of his wallet!

A superb, smooth malt more complex than at first might be imagined. If you like it, I'd recommend the Balvenie Doublewood.
