Lagavulin price jump

You got lucky. Seems the store put it at the pre-shortage price, then realized the price had jumped post-shortage, and raised it accordingly.

I thought the "shortage" had been resolved. I was recently in NYC, where it was cheaper than the $65 it costs in Utah ($58-9?). Speaking of which, if it's available in Utah, I wonder how hard it can possibly be to get?

The shortage is resolving ... however many places are jacking up the cost once it returns to their shelves.

Here in the UK, most half decent Supermarkets stocked the Lagavulin 16. Prices tended to be around 28 UKP. Last year it vanished from the shelves and you were lucky to find a bottle anywhere. The only places still stocking it were specialist whisky stores and they were at least

35-38 UKP. Recently a couple of local supermarkets have got it back in stock, but priced at around 35 UKP. IMHO If the supermarkets are selling at this price, it must be coming from Lagavulin at a higher price. :-( FYI: 35 UKP is approx $62US.

It hasn't been spotted in Nashville since last fall, when it was $69.99.

Saw some 16 at Marketview Liquors in Rochester, NY for $55 2 days ago
