Maui Waui (one man's seach for Laphroaig_)

Been subjecting the wife for my search in scoring a dose of Laphroaig while visiting paradise. None at the usual classly place - Nick's Seafood, Tommy Bahama's, Ruth Chris, Grand wailea Resort...... But as luck would have it, the smallest bar with a large lounge at the Four Seasons was in possession and was willing to deal........ asking prices; Glenmorangie 10 yr = $16 Glenmorangie 12 yr = $18 Glenlivet 12 yr = $14 Glenlivet 19 yr = $20 Knockando 12 yr = $16 Knockando 21 yr = $49 Macallan 12 yr = $14 Macallan 18 yr = $20 Macallan 25 yr = $55 Laphroaig 10 yr = $12 Laphroaig 15 yr = $18 Laphroaig 30 yr = $45

Accepted the asking price and took possion of 1.5 oz of Laphroaig 10 yr,neat, side of water with no ice, with the glass of my desire place on a 4" x 4" white folded demi table cloth. I applied the approoriated amount of water, drank 1/2 the glass while admiring the sunset and the understated elegance of the local. I drank the remainder as the orange orb passed on the Marquee Islands.

Ordered a second dose to allow me the pleasure of watching a native boy, run around in native attire, lighting tourchs all over the property to impresss the temperary natives with a long-gone-bye feeling of artistocracy.

You will find Laphroaig out and about, but when you find it and drink, analyse when you are and what the establishment is trying to show and tell you about themselves.........................
