Hi to the folks here. Have been sitting quietly and watching and learning. Nice bunch imo .

No expert by any means just drink what I like the taste of when I can afford it .

Although favourite is Laphroig 7 litres stored of various years and a sip out of each (Duty free helps keep the purchase price down)

Sundry other whiskies what I call day to day couple of single malts few Irish Jamesons and Bushmills Fantastic whisky made in Tasmania and do not mind some of the Suntory that have tasted and have one here.

Why am I here . Agenda

Have recently (2 months ago) got into home distilling but relevant news groups not only dead but appear decomposed Main interest is on ageing in various woods (by in barrels/casks and adding wood chips to the spirit) and playing with various taste/fractals via source of granulated carbon . Example use Barley to make the carbon

So here's a toast and thanks for the knowledge and opinions so far Holds a dram of Sullivans Cove Single Malt 'Double Cask' Whisky.

Cheers and good health P

Hi, Phil -- welcome. What can you tell us about this Tasmanian whisky?

And this one? The only whisky I've had from your area of the world is the Lammerlaw from NZ.

Thanks -- Larry

In the shop they mention specifically three different whiskies:

Sullivans Cove American Oak Single Cask Malt Whisky - Bourbon Maturation - 60% Sullivans Cove French Oak Single Cask Malt Whisky - Port Maturation - 60% Sullivans Cove Single Malt 'Double Cask' Whisky - 40%

with the latter obviously matured in both types of cask.
