Cool! What'd you play? :P

So I guess we should scratch you from the list of invitees when we open our '93 Margaux this year? ;-)

Nice lineup of wines, Bill. I don't think that we have many of them in the cellar, but it's still great vicarious fun to read about them.

Cheers! Mark Lipton

OK this one has me lost, translation please?

Didn't care for this either. I've had a couple '93 Medocs that I thought were nice (Gloria and Lynch-Bages) but not exciting.

I had this last year, found it very good but still pretty tannic.

Bleehh! Scratch that jibe, Bill. I was thinking of *83* despite the fact that you were talking about '93.

Mark - the 93 (and 94) Margaux are actually darned good!

Dale - that was the first 86 Barton I've found 'presentable' - maybe from a warmer cellar than mine? And poitrine is just breast of pheasant and I think Guinea fowl on a bed of sliced suateed Belgian endive.

Gentlemen - tonight I shall raise a glass to you - I'll be drinking

1966 Bordeaux...;-)

Ah drink well, haven't had a '66 in 15 years.

I'm guessing it was storage, because early last year it was a brute.

Look forward to your '66 report!

I still have a few 1966s. Some of the 1966s always were a bit on the dry side and not very fruity. Some have lasted well, and others have dried out. In general 1966 was not as user friendly - especially when young - as the 1959s, for example.

I find I have at least one bottle each of Calon-Segur, Mouton, Lafite, Leoville-Las-Cases, Lascombes, La Lagune, Haut-Brion, Bouscaut, and La Gaffeliere. It will be interesting to read your comments if you open any of these.
