Some old friends were in town from Asheville NC, we went to a dinner welcom ing them in Riverdale. With cheeses, tapenade, and dates

NV Le Mesnil Brut Champagne from Rare Wine Company Classy, elegant medium bodied BdB, good value. B+/B

NV Mionetto Prosecco Sweeter, apples and mint, a little short B-/C+

With chicken tagine, rice, and Betsy’s spicy Moroccan salad (with c auliflower, nuts, etc)

2001 Finca Museum “Museum Real Reserva” (Cigales) Red fruited, a little kirsch note, plenty of vanilla, quite popular, a litt le glossier than I would have liked. B-

2015 Menage a Trois red Sweet, jammy, wet is it best attribute. C+/C

2015 Villalin Quincy Pretty grapefruit scented SB, with just a hint of grass and catpee. Quite f loral, good acids, a touch of earth, nice finish. Buy more. B++

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a p arty where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivi ty, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
