2015 Caspari-Kappel Urschiefer Riesling Trocken . Peaches, lemon peel, hint of honey, clean but a little boring. B-/B

Teriyaki salmon, rice, spinach, and the 2007 Bachelet Gevrey-Chambertin VV. In a very nice place, earthy Gevrey tones but elegant and bright, Red and black cherry, sandalwood, earth and mushroom. Still a bit of tannin, but suave and supple. Good length. Excellent for level. B++

At an outdoor St Nikolaus party, I had the knockwurst but skipped the Glugwein. I did have:

2020 Brundlmayer Gruner Veltliner- lemon, peas, apple blossoms, on light side but tasty B

2018 Enderle and Moll “Liaison” Pinot Noir - raspberry crunch, a little barnyard funk, fun. B+

NV Veuve Ambal Cremant de Bourgogne- snappy, Granny Smith, dinner roll. B-/B

Back home for some poulet bonne femme, with the 2016 Heritiers du Comte Lafon “Clos du Four “ Macon-Milly-Lamartine. Apple, pear, a touch of oak, pretty broad but with a good acidic backbone. Maybe a bit more Lafon than Macon, but isn’t that a good thing? B+

2019 Mercator Upper Ridge Marquette (Nova Scotia) My first Marquette, adding another grape to list. I won’t be on the lookout for more. This is a hybrid, smells like Concord grape jelly but it's not a Lambrusca mix. Macerated blackberries and grapes, foxy, thin. C

Oysters, black seabass, lobster ravioli in sage butter, crown daisy, mushrooms, salad NV J.M. Seleque “Les Solistes” Extra Brut Rose Champagne. All Pinot Meunier. Snappy red fruits, fresh baked biscuits, a little green herb and citrus zest. B+

2016 Howard Park Miamup Sauvignon Blanc Semillon I like Oz Semillon, and thought I’d try a blend when I was looking for a case filler for shipping. Oops.This is actually 87 SB, and the 13% Sem shows nowhere. Catpee/gooseberry and grass, a Bueker nightmare, ok acids but short/soft finish. Could be a mass market NZSB. C+
