Subject: Harvest, Part Green
Chardonney & Seyval Combined
16 Brix (refract) pH 3.38 TA .81
Lousy numbers, but the wasps and flies have discovered the green grapes, so they aren't going to get any better, just more insect damaged.
I have read recommendations for harvesting at night, a number of alledged benefits, the most pragmatic of which is that after dark the wasps have abandonned the vineyard and stings are less frequent.
So What I'm going to do is try to harvest grapes after work this week weather permitting and any thing that I haven't finished, I'll get next Sat & Sunday during the day.

Based on nothing more than hearsay about prices, I'm asking $1/#, if that price is out-of line, feel free to educate me.
Harvest, Part Purple schedule is still unknown. The number there are even worse having just hit veriason last week, but are showing steady improvement. It's just going to be an ugly race to see which comes first, ripeness or frost. Stay tuned...
