CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - A new report has listed Cincinnati as one of the top-10 best cities for beer drinkers.
The study by smartasset.com considered the total and per capita number of microbreweries and brewpubs in each city, as well as average Yelp star rating for the establishments in the 296 largest cities in the United States.
Cincinnati came in 10th on the list. Below is the caption about the Queen City:
"The first of three Ohio cities to rank among the top 25 best cities for beer drinkers, Cincinnati has a rich history as a producer and exporter of great beer. That history stretches as far back as the mid-19th century, when Cincinnati emerged as one of the leading producers of beer in the entire country.
While much has changed since those early days, Cincinnati is still a top beer city. It has 14 different breweries, including popular microbreweries like MadTree and Rhinegeist. For those who want a taste of the past, the citys Brewery District offers tours of the pre-Prohibition brewery buildings, some of which are more than 100 years old."
So, who came in first? The distinctive honor goes to Portland, Maine. Asheville, North Carolina and Portland, Oregon round out the top three.
