There are very few consumer goods that sell themselves these days. Cigarettes (gross), hookers (grosser) and beer (deliciousest) are the first three that come to mind, and only one of those deserves any sort of commemoration. That?s exactly why there?s the Cincinnati Hooker, er, Beer Festival this weekend at Fountain Square. The beerstravaganza kicks off Friday with more than 200 different flavors of beer provided by big beer names like Guinness, Mt. Carmel, Christian Moerlein, Leinenkugel, Left Hand and Thirsty Dog. Fountain Square?s MPMF and Fifth Street stages will also feature more than 30 different live music acts with enough food vendors spread throughout the debauchery to keep everyone thirsty.
Admission is free and 3-oz. beer tastings start at just $1. Event times are 6-11 p.m. Friday, noon-11 p.m. Saturday and noon-9 p.m. Sunday,
Editor?s Note: Steadfast intern and caustic resident Eli Johnson will be celebrating his 21st birthday by spending all the money he doesn?t have at the festival. Cincinnati, please take care of him.
