I grew up in Wausau Wisconsin. Wausau is about half an hour north of Stevens Point where Point beer is brewed. I remember my dad treated Point beer as a delicacy and would rave about the "gift from the Gods" flavor of Point beer. The funny thing is that when ever he drank it, the next morning he would complain about his joints hurting. He never had that problem with Old Style (we always called it Dog Style) that he usually drank. Some say that the joint thing is due to the use of water from the Wisconsin river which gets much of its water from the Tamarac (not sure of the spelling) swamps in the north. Has anyone ever heard of this?
