Hi all, We just returned from an escape to Wisconsin and the annual Morel Mushroom Festival in Muscoda (mus-co-day). The food: Morels of course, but this years harvest wasn't that bountiful. Enough morels for butter fried samples and slices of Morels on pizza (Yum!), but not enough for batter dipped deep fried morels. We were lucky enough to obtain 1 lb. of these wonderful mushrooms. The wine: Not much wine available on the street, but we did stop at a local winery just outside of town. I must admit that I'm a sucker for stopping at these wineries, and sometimes the wines can be quite good. This year it was the Weggy Winery where we had some samples and purchased a couple of bottles.
