And I'm an Alcoholic

Take me to an AA meeting now. I mean immediately. I cant stand drinking this beer anymore, and I keep begging for a second one. Please help me God. If I drink a second beer, I will surely die!

The 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous

  1. We admitted we were powerless over alcohol -- that our lives had become unmanageable. We know that having ONE beer or drink will KILL us.

  1. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity. That power is GOD almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

  2. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him, and to go to church daily to pray.

  1. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves, because we are full of faults and character defects which make us worthless human beings everytime we drink.

  2. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs, knowing there is nothing good about us, as we are failures in life.

  1. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character, and ask God to strike us dead if we consume one more alcoholic drink.

  2. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings, and make us worthy of the air we breathe and the food which we eat.

  1. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all. This includes our worst enemies and those we hate most.

  2. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. Knowing this, we must travel the world in search of those whom we have harmed, and humbly get on our knees in their presence and kiss their feet to console them, while asking them and God for forgiveness.

  1. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. We must severely punish ourselves by means such as starvation, self mutilation, and oxygen deprivation, for our sinful ways.

  2. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out. This means that we must attend church services at least once per day for the rest of our lives.

  1. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to others, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. Following this final step means we must all go to those places where alcoholics consume their poison, and drag them out into the light of our Lord God, where they will be redeemed and begin their own 12 step journey to eternal salvation.

Amen Praise Jesus!
