Beer left in a keg?

Hello,

I got a kegerator a few months ago, and now am trying to figure out how much beer is left in the keg. Does anybody have any good techniques for doing this? I've heard about using inferred thermometers to look for a change in temperature, but I don't want to buy something new. I've also heard about using a bathroom scale, but that seems like too much of a hassle. Does anybody have a good technique for figuring out how much beer is left in a keg?

Thanks!

-Ben

If the keg itself is also several months old, I would not drink it, but usually you can tap on the side of it, and it will give you a good idea if it's 1/2(@ 7 gal),1/4(@3.5 gal), etc.
