A Florida craft brewery is expanding distribution to Ohio, meaning Cincinnati will be one of the few markets where consumers can get its beer outside of the Sunshine State.

Doral, Fla.-based M.I.A. Beer Co. will begin distribution in Ohio on Dec. 5. The first three markets where its brews will be available are Cincinnati, Dayton and Oxford.

Florida-based M.I.A. Beer Co. will begin distributing its brews to Cincinnati on Dec. 5. The beers will be brought to Ohio by Cincinnati-based Cavalier Distributing. That's one of the reasons the brewery decided to expand to Ohio as Cavalier is its Florida distributor as well.

"We’ve been getting a lot of inquiries from Ohio residents on where they can find our beer," M.I.A. owner Eddie Leon told me in an email. "We’ve realized that Ohio has a well-developed craft beer market that might appreciate our unique tropically inspired beers."

M.I.A. was named by market research company IRI as the nation's ninth-fastest-growing new brewery in grocery store accounts. The brewery makes beers inspired by the city and culture of Miami.

The first beers distributed to Cincinnati will include draft and package versions of Miami Weiss Hefeweizen, Mega Mix Pale Ale and Tourist Trappe Belgian Tripel as well as seasonal and limited releases.

Brownfield covers retail and restaurants, technology, manufacturing and courts.
