Highland Brewing Comes To Town

Highland Brewing comes to town

04/16/13 at 2:19pm by Shauna Steigerwald 1 Comments I’ve been taking nearly annual trips to Asheville, N.C., for several years now. It’s such a wonderful place: A little haven for foodies and artists nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, where chances to get out on the trail abound.

Whenever I’m there, I make sure to sample some of the local beers. And there are plenty to choose from: Asheville has more breweries per capita than any other U.S. city.

One brewery that’s widely available there: Highland Brewing Company, with offerings such as Gaelic Ale, Oatmeal Porter and Black Mocha Stout.

Now, they’re coming here for a series of events at local restaurants and bars this week and a goal of being widely available locally by the end of the week and going forward.

Here’s the schedule of events this week:

Tuesday: Highland meet-and-greet, 4-6 p.m. at The Lackman; happy hour,

6:30 p.m., and beer dinner, 7 p.m., at Mayberry

Wednesday: Highland Little Hump spring ale on tap at Oak Tavern and Oakley Pub and Grill in Oakley; Highland pint night, 4-7 p.m. at Allyn’s

Thursday: Highland tasting, 4-8 p.m., Anderson Kroger; Highland pint night, 5-7 p.m., The Comet; Highland tasting, 4-7 p.m. at Country Fresh Farm Market (Anderson)

Friday: Highland tasting, 3-7 p.m. at Hyde Park Kroger
