Recently "converted" my kegger to accept guiness. So I got a 40lb steel tank of beer gas (25%nitro) from the local distro ... an adapter for my regulator/gauges ... a new faucet ... and of course a keg of guiness. I
*think* it turned out well as I started pouring nice glasses of guiness with lots of bubbles. However, in the past 4 days, I've notice my high side gauge drop in half down to about 400psi or less :( This tank is so big that I had to put it outside the keg (cut a hole for the tubing).
I'm not sure ... but I think my beer might be tasting less carbonated and more sour now? So, I have a few q's:
1) If the high side drops on such a tank of beer gas do I have a slow leak somewhere?
2) Should I be using a different regulator/gauges than I used for the CO2 system? I was told I didn't have to by beveragefactory.
3) Do I have to worry about my whole keg of guiness going flat if my tanks leak out of gas? (I hope not! Guiness isn't cheap or light in those FULL kegs that you can only buy it in)
