Kegerator Problems (Please Help!!!)

So I just finished building my kegerator. Got a used 80# CO2 tank, and it's filled. Got a used tap and used faucet. All were said to be in good working condition.

Now that I have money to buy a keg, I went ahead and did that. Got a keg of Killian's Irish Red, one of my favorites.

But to my dismay, upon tapping the keg, we have nothing but problems.

If anything other than air comes out, we get only foam. I have the pressure turned down at around 10 psi, and we get only foam, but mostly just air.

What could my problem be???

Please e-mail snipped-for-privacy@hotmail.com or reply to this post if you have any ideas!

Thanks! Chris

Such a common problem if you did a simple Google search you'd see you must turn up the pressure to get beer. Line resistance and all that david beertjefortytwoatspamdotyahoodotcom

Hey Chris,

check to see if the tap is seal tight to the keg, most common . 2 problem It may also be a cracked pick-up , if that is the problem try to lay keg on its side, the beer in the keg should cover pick up tube completely so if the pick-up tube has a crack in it will suck beer not air. If this solves the problem return the keg for replacement or refund. I have tapped many a keg and these are the only problems I Have ever had when I get only form and or air.

It could also be that CO2-in, and beer-out are turned around. That way the co2 goes al the way down through the beer, therefor it will foam and every now and the it will come high enough to flow out through the (original)co2-in line. I just made this up myself, but it sounds reasonable... Mirko
