Sam Adams Boston Lager

Just wondering how this beer rates with everyone. I just got a kegerator & finished my first keg(Bud Light) this weekend. Replaced it with a keg of Sam Adams. Quite good compared to the Bud. Any recommendations what to try after that one's empty, in the Northern California area. Thanks.

Ever think to try a local beer? Might be a bit more expensive, but at least you can justify having a keg of it around. Anderson Valley and North Coast (Ft. Bragg) should be available in Northern California.

I guess if you don't like flavorful beers (though you are moving up the scale with Sam Adams Boston Lager), then stick to the big beer manufacturers. But you have dozens of brewers nearby. At the very least, North Coast makes a nice Scrimshaw Pilsner training-wheels beer, and then there's Red Seal, while AV has a whole range of beers on offer too. Make an effort and get rewarded, else, well, it's Bud Light for you.

That's darning it with faint praise. I think Zima is good compared to "the Bud". At least Zima doesn't pretend to be a real beer.

How about Oregon Original?

Some good home-brew would do the trick!

I agree with both of those choices, and I'd through Theakson Old Peculier in there, too. Sierra Nevada rocks!

Toss Full Sail on the pile. as a transition to the more flavorful styles their pilsner is quit nice.
