I visited the Greene King brewery on Saturday and bought a case of Hens Tooth, best before May 2004.
I am hoping to "lay it down". Anyone know when it'll be at its best? Will it actually start to deteriorate on its expiry date?
By the way, I used to think Ruddles was pretty disgusting. Much as I deplore brewery closures, I think it's much nicer now Greene King brew it. Hens Tooth seems to have survived the transfer from Abingdon; I don't know about Old Speckled Hen as I've never been that keen on it.
