I totally agree it is a hidden gem - do they still do pie and peas? Wonderful!
However, people should be warned that it is upstairs.
If you do go, beware the settee - it has been known to eat people!

Yes, but it's under new ownership [but the same bar management] and the menu has been expanded considerably.
True, but I've seen a chap in a wheelchair in there. His mates carried him upstairs, complete with chair, and back down again!
Gone, I'm afraid. The new owners have replaced the more tattered furniture with leather sofas and chairs.

I popped in last Tuesday for a pint. Still very much the same feel about the place. I remember it from the days of the good old Egyptian Sand and Gravel Company - beat that for the name of a brewery!
Oh and speaking of warning people, those over 6ft should beware of the beams!

Good beer festival, regardless.
Been there for several pints this evening, and it's definitely worth a visit for a pint or three more!

Mike, what beers are on the Navigation at Mirfield? Could be quite handy for us travelling from Hebden Bridge-Wakefield to Red Shed, Fernandes etc,
Must do the leggers again also-no doubt there will be time after the current crop of Santas
