Redditch Winter Ales Festival

A great success. The last beer ran out at 10pm on the final day but there was cider and perry to drink.

33 new CAMRA members. £156 raised for Air Ambulance. Beer of the Festival was Kinver, Over the Edge (7.2% ABV) but pale, hoppy and very drinkable. Cider won by Gwatkin Perry.

I had a good day on the Saturday, especially once it quietened down a bit. Decent beer, good hog. My BotF was the Teme Valley Talbot Porter (he says, without his notes to refer to).

Sadly didn't get to try that. My personal BOF was a tie between Haviestoun Jack the Lad and Bank Top Sir Kay.

Sorry it was crowded, we really need a bigger venue but can't find one in the town so will almost certainly be back at CentrePoint next year.

Interesting to hear your comments on the hog roast - we got a lot of comments saying it was over-priced. We didn't appreciate the amount of space it took up or the heat it put into the room but appreciate that folks like hot food.

Anyway, thanks for the feedback.
