Shock! Some good pubs news.

apparently The Sun at Leintwardine, a famous classic unspoilt pub has not only been saved from the risk of closure, change of use, etc, but the consortium involved in buying it includes the chap behind the excellent Hobson's Brewery.

Best of luck to them, cheers MikeMcG

Another link - includes a rather dark video of a bloke playing a steel guitar in the pub a year or so ago.

This takes me back 25+ years to when my wife and I decided to visit the Sun one afternoon when we were in the area. We had seen the pub as no1 in a booklet on the most unspoiled pubs in Britain. We were the only customers in the pub at the time. Flossie served us the beer from casks in her larder (That's what it looked like!). She then sat with us in the lounge & thoroughly quizzed us on what we were up to. PS Has anyone still got a copy of that booklet?

Bit of an odd video for the Shrops Star to have up - not really very related to the pub.

There's a more relevant video up on Youtube -
