What Happened to the Sair Inn?

I hope this link works for you, but the Sair Inn in Linfit seems to be no longer brewing it's own. Article sez beer is brewed in a pub in nearby Marsden, which must (??) be the Riverhead Tap (Osset??).

Any info appreciated.

is this up to date , The GBG 2008 still list it as brewing, I thought since riverhead had been taken over by ossett, all brewing was done at ossett/.

The last report I had, from a week ago, was that Copper Dragon beers were on sale at the Sair.

To correct your brewery information, Ossett took over both Riverhead Brewery, Marsden and Fernandes, Wakefield and are operating the two smaller breweries independently, with their own ranges of beers which have quite different character from Ossett's own, thus providing more choice in Ossett's own pubs in addition to some independent guests.

Ossett's head brewer oversees the others to ensure they maintain quality but they are free to maintain and develop their own beers. Riverhead's recently-appointed brewer is a long-standing active CAMRA member.

Cheers,

Paul

Wull ... those of us that get to the Sair but onece a year would really REALLY like to know. Is Ron still there? Do they still draw their own ales (yummy!)? Come on. Some one of you Brits need to straighten this out. It's only a few miles from Huddersfield, Marsden, or Holmfirth, all towns with great real ale pubs. I need to arrange next Spring's itinerary. Help is needed here.

Well it took a bit longer than thought, but made it up yesterday for a couple.

Very busy with a swing band insdie and people all over the road...but...

No Linfit beer. Just 3 of the hand pump operating and all dispensing Eastwood.

Whether this is permanant or just the lack of a head brewer; no idea.

Cheers

You did not think to ask behind the bar then, on my only visit to the all nations the only beer available was Simkiss
