Wine (Beer) Refrigerator/Cooler???

A local store has a sale on a Wine Refrigerator. It holds 40 or so bottles of wine (laying down). It has a digital temperature setting that allows the user to set the temp between 45 & 60 degrees F.

My question is that I am looking for something to cool my 22 ounce bottled conditioned English ale homebrews. If I purchase this cooler should I store the capped (not corked) bottles on their side or should I store them standing up? Not sure it will hold as many bottles standing up.

Also, what is a good storage temperature for bottle conditioning? I don't use priming sugar, allowing the yeast to give me natural carbonation. Currently my bottles are stored upright in my closet under the stairs which is about 70 degrees F.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Standing up. The yeast needs to settle at the bottom of the bottle to allow you to pour off from the yeast (sorry)

You don't say if you've brewed it yourself or bought in. (1) If bought in, it's probably already conditioned, so I'd store at 45 (and let it warm up out of the cooler before drinking). (2)If brewed yourself, you should let it condition prior to putting it in the cooler. (3) The exception being in the case of lagers, which should comfortably condition and store at 45

Ah! Condition (2) applies

Not good! Buy the cooler! Can you lay some on their side to get the quantity into the cooler, leaving a few upright ready for drinking, then stand the others upright for 24 - 48 hours as they become candidates for consumption? HTH KeithS
