KAILUA-KONA, HI (June 19, 2005)
The Kona Coffee Council announces its 2nd Annual "Cream of the Crop" Coffee Tasting event. This free event will be held Sat. August 6, 12pm to 4pm at the Four Seasons Hualalai Resort, Hoku Amphitheatre and is open to the public. (People's Choice voting closes at 2:30pm.)
The Public and a specialty panel of Resort Chefs are invited to vote which coffee is crowned "Cream of the Crop". The coffees will be divided into Organic Kona, Estate Kona and the Kona Open categories.
The public is encouraged to sample specialty deserts featuring 100% Kona Coffee and many of the farms and confectioners will also offer their product for sale.
Slack Key Guitarist, Chris Yeaton will provide music for the event.
The Kona Coffee Council is a volunteer, non-profit community-based organization of coffee farmers, processors and others involved in the coffee industry. It began in 1985 with the mission to promote and protect and educate about 100% Kona Coffee. In addition to classes for farmers, they run an Estate Program to help promote the increasing number of estate-label coffee producers. The 100% Kona Coffee seals appear on member product.
