Cost of Liquor License?

Does anybody know what a ballpark figure cost is for a liquor license? I'm talking about a license that would let you sell beer, wine, and whisky. No cold drinks. Just a small liquor shop.

Thanks

In the mid-west. Like Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, or Michigan.

I would think you would need to contact the community you were going to set up in. Costs would be hard to generally estimate.

I was just looking for a ballpark estimate - like ten thousand? Fifty thousand? etc...

50K you say? I'm thinking a liquor license is really a license to print money. Just buy a small building, get the license, and get the liquor, and let the customers come 6 days a week. I wonder how hard it is to obtain a license (besides coming up with the money).

oh, that was not including the liscese fees, just the first order from the state! As to how hard, is there a package licsence avaiable in the area you want to set up in? If not, and if the county does not want to play, you are kinda SOL in michigan.

Snow again today, day 5 of cross country ski season!!!! YEAH! almost as good as a fresh brew being ready

And what exactly is a license fee and how much? Again, ball-park figures is all I need. I still think a liquor store is easy money.

Look, call the county you want to set your money making shop up in and ask them.

That's what I'm going to do early in 2004. I was just hoping there might be some people who might give me some figures. That's all. I've tried looking up past posts on google but haven't found much.
