Extreme Recipes in Brew Your Own

Has anyone tried any of the Extreme Beer Recipes in the latest Brew Your Own Magazine? I have been looking for some of the ingredients and came across

with the exact kits for Round the World Tripel, KIWIT, Peppercorn Rye-bock, Molasses Marzen, and DEMA-Goddess Ale. I wonder if the recipes are based on any of Dogfish head's recipes. I am thinking about trying the Round the World Tripel. It has 2 pounds of Chinese rock candy and 2 pounds of brown sugar. Let me know if anyone has tried it. I am afraid that much sugar it going to make the beer way to sweet.

I don't know about these kits, but I can assure you that sugar doesn't make your beer sweet. Just the opposite, in fact...sugar is 100% fermentable and the more you use, the drier (less sweet) your beer will become.
