A Tea Addicts Strange Compulsion

Hi ALl,

Its me once again starting a new thread!!! I just wanted to mention that in addition to having a tea addiction and by no means does this counter insert with that of a caffeine addiction I would like to add one other odd thing I do . I Count teas !!! Yes, thats right I actually count how many I drink per day. It started back in Nov. '02 when I actually began counting teas and I made the goal of drinking sum total 1,000. As of the current moment 8:19:15 (10/13/03) I've reached a staggering (or is it???) 789 teas with the count having started once again back in November.

I wonder if I am the only person in the world doing this bizarre compulsion. Its a goal albeit, a strange though innocuous one, but a goal nonetheless.

Ahem.

Anal retentive- adj. Designating personality traits such as avarice, meticulousness, and obstinacy, traceable to a childhood fascination with the retention of feces.

Of course this stupid bitch is describing no one other than (hint, hint) herself ... LOL!!!

No- I think she's describing people who count the number of teacups they drink in a given day. I didn't notice any stupidity, though. Sarcasm, yes. As for the bitchyness- that's in the eye of the beholder.

Now- back to our regular programming. I made a pot of Shui Mei white tea from

today and found the taste to be exceedingly delicate. I agree with Joseph Kubera- tea does change in taste and scent as it cools. It turns out that in the Chinese tea ceremony, people sometimes drink from slim cups as the brew cools in order to appreciate the change in smell and taste. By the way- I brewed this one with relatively cool (i.e., simmering) water for two minutes, maybe less. It's beginning to get cold out (my building manager tested the heating system today) and this is the time of year when I leave off plain water, lemonade or iced tea and move into the hot stuff. I find it helps me concentrate on my writing, too, since I tend to start late in the evening and work for a few hours.
