Granite stains

Hi,

Water will stain light colored granite that is installed as a countertop. I once lived in an apartment with tan, white, and brown flecked granite countertops. The area around the sink was a different color because the iron in the granite had oxidized due to the repeated exposure. Most commercially installed countertops are supposed to be sealed so I assume that these were. However, the surface was slightly uneven and there were small pockets indicative of the stone's structure, and I caused some coffee stains in the crevices. I would say that if you leave any fluid on the granite that it may eventually stain or corrode. Of course, it may take years of abuse due to the sealant. You want to be careful with the type of cleaners you use as well--no harsh chemicals, including vinegar and citric acid. You can find recommended care for granite through a google search. I currently have a granite table top so I did such a search a few months ago.

Thanks. I did so more research and can add coffee, wine, fruit and citrus stains. I guess I can throw in tea. Obviously I would clean up major spills but it is the accumulation of the little drops here and there you don't notice. I've got a good handle on the cleaners, revitalizers and sealants required. When I found out the sealants are just stain resistant that explained alot. My granite is India Shivakashi gold,brown,pink ribbon streaks light under daylight and darker under bulb.

The young good looking guy did leave early. The Russian dance hall is just 10 miles away on a major thru fare. These guys were chiseled. My wife told me she thought they were hunks especially with the sexy accent. I never heard her use that word before. So if your marriage is on the rocks maybe you want to find somebody else. There was a time when I had an extra case of beer lying around but not anymore. These guys are in demand and it was the only time I could get after a bribe.
