I attended a training seminar one day last week, so I was unable to prepare my own tea during the day, as I usually do at the office. The last time I attended a seminar at this particular place, there was a concessions area that sold Bewley's teas, so I planned to buy a cup of Irish Breakfast before heading into the seminar.
When I got there, to my great disappointment, I found that they no longer sold Bewley's. The only teas they sold were Lipton regular and decaf, and an Earl Grey blend which was some brand I'd never heard of. Lipton has got to be my least favorite of all the mainstream brands, but I decided that it was better than nothing and would do in a pinch. It had been a very long time since I'd had Lipton tea, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it tasted a lot better than I'd remembered. It helped that the water was hot enough. But the tea was more full-bodied and less astringent than I remember Lipton being. I know that Lipton's packaging has changed recently. I am wondering if they may have quietly changed their formula to compete with some of the better brands that are becoming more competitive. Does anybody know?
