Lan gui ren?

Hi,

I just got some Lan Gui Ren (supposedly "Blue Empress") tea from my Chinese colleague, and I fell in love with it instantly. It is oolong-like with large rolled leaves. The taste is wonderful, sweet and flowery. However, I can't seem to find much about it on the web. Does anybody have any info about it?

Thanks,

J.

Here's a quote from TeaSpring.com, the only site that I've noticed carrying this tea.

"Languiren, which translates to ?Lady Orchid?, originates from the southwestern province of Yunnan, China. The tightly compressed tablet-shaped tea leaves yield an amber colored beverage that has a mesmerizing orchid aroma when steeped. The rich taste and its sweet aftertaste makes this a very desirable tea."

Hope that helped,

I just got a parcel with teas, including Lan Gui Ren from Teaspring. They send directly from China. Their Lan Gui Ren was delicious, just like the description on their website, with the addition of a hint of anis/liqorice emerging after a few steepings.
