Sure,888. You are right.

Come here and lets beat Mike Petro up. Tell us when you will be coming. We will meet you at the airport.

Sasha.

Actually if you posted your reply in Chinese it would make better sense to some of us. I need the practice.

Jim

...

I know Mike, I was just commenting on the ecommerce software they were using, sort of on a tangent.

My excuse is that my gateway strips the 8th bit and I cannot send anything but ASCII!!!

You sure your, uh, critic deserves this, given the quality of his or her English? Maybe he or she relied on a Chinese-to-English translation program!

OK. Aha.

I've been thinking about this. And. OK.

So. What happened is. Well, I don't really like tea, see. But I read all these messages by Mike Petro (who is a real cheat) and saw the URL to

and -- OK, I see it now. That made me think I love pu-erh and go out and spend my kids' college money on some MH 7542 from 1978 (125 tongs!) ... and. OK. I get it now.

I've been totally cheated by the Mr Mike Petro, whose website is located at

(disclaimer: for the archive, i'd liked to point out that the above is a 笑话 ...)

"88" - - eights represent good luck (particularly in business), prosperity, wealth - the more "eights" the luckier

Except nothing is being stripped. In your last post of Chinese characters:

the four valid characters (byte pairs for each character) for DiMing each fall in the extended Ascii range of 2**8. The Asian character sets try to stay out of our Ascii 2**7.

In this post somewhere the characters did get stripped to Ascii ? but I'm not sure what caused it.

Lewis ( snipped-for-privacy@umr.edu),

You've got to be either kidding or just green. What makes you think that I wouldn't know that YOU are the one behind

formatting link
Your email address ( snipped-for-privacy@umr.edu) obviously gave you out. You are Steven's classmate or whatever mate at the Univ. of Miss. in Rolla who told Steven about your tea business. So the fact that you are vouching for yourself is lame!

So, ok, maybe you are an student-entrepreneur with a real business going who is trying to make money on the side while attending college. I respect that. But what you are doing is hardly palatable. You swipe pictures from other bona fide businesses such as Rishi and other reputable vendors and post them as yours on your site. At the least, if you're found out by them, you'll be liable for copyright infringements.

One example...your Sowmee white tea picture is obviously identical to that found at teajunky.com. Assuming it's the same tea (meaning the tea is from the same source and batch, etc.) Tea Junky sells it for $3.96/4oz (bag) or $6.46/4oz (tin can). So this tells me that you are probably a reseller who sells the same tea for $9.99/3.5oz in a tin can with your owl JKL label. Fine. It's just the way your business is run.

Besides, I never said that you are a hack. I said that I've been told that you are a hack. I don't know about you, but I don't necessarily equate the word "hack" with "cheat". A hack you are -- as I have pointed out above by you hacking others' pictures -- but a cheat you may not.

Will I avoid your site like a plaque? No. But will I avoid you? Yes.

Phyll

It always saddened me to see how people chase "luck" when its so much more fun to "chase" smart. Which is what our 88 friends desperately need.

Sasha.

re: the number 8, It's not as much about "chasing" as "hoping" or "wishing" for luck. It's akin to why people wear talismans, me think.

ROTFLMHO! You just hate being exposed.

Actually the 88 sites both have pretty decent tea, and I think they do a fine business. MarshalN
