A Scottish Cultural Heritage Lost

I'm trying to find the best Scotch. I've tried McCallan's, Glen Ord, J&B and Highland Park and with the exception of Highland Park i felt noticeably worse after drinking the first three. The J&B was store bought. I bought it after i tried some J&B's at a friend's house whose father is rather well-off. I drank three glasses of the J&B's at my friend's. The next morning I woke up and felt fantastic. After doing some research i discovered that Scotch used to be medicinal. I'm angry because i'm half Scottish and the Scotch that's being sold that i've tried so far is not medicinal. C'mon guys, this is a Scottish heritage that will be lost if people don't start sharing the information. Where is the REAL Scotch?
