Arran Malt

Had some Arran Malt this weekend - very nice smooth whisky, not peated at all. I was expecting something more Islay - ish, but not at all.

I have an Arran cask that I haven't opened yet. Red label (I've seen blue labels as well).

Arran is much overpriced. Tried a few. Tastes like a too young whisky, simply not ready yet and very, very expensive for that kind of stuff.

It was £25.99 the bottle. In an expensive - type shop, so not unexpectedly expensive.

I usually drink Islay malts, this was interestingly different.

It wasn't harsh in the way young whisky can be.

And, my Mother liked it. Can't say fairer than that.

$26 expensive!?????LOL..... i cant get almost 3 bv reserve for that.....you know what they say..after 2pints..they all taste the same..lol

I bought a bottle while on holiday in Germany and it was one of the cheaper malts in the specialist shop. It's prompted varied responses from friends - from love to hate. Personally I like it before a meal as it has a rather fresh and light taste.
