Glenfarclas 12

Here in NC the Glenfarclas 12, one of my favorite whuskies, gows on sale periodically for about 30 bucks. This year there are two versions: the older tall, slim bottle in the metal can, and the short squat bottle in the cardboard tube. I really thought I prefered the newer. So yesterday we bought one of each (requiring two different stores) and last night we tasted them together.

Again and again.

And again.

Can't really tell them apart when taken together.

Ah well, must continue testing.

BTW - just finished the "105" and I like the

12 better!

The 105 is an odd one - it can take a while to find out exactly how much water to add.

What I will say is that when you get it _just_ right, it's a fabulous dram.

The 105 and the 12 may come from the same distillery, but they are vastly different. The 105 is a unique experience, but the 12 can be a daily dram.

Water? We don't need no steenkin' water.
