So I have a Macallans 10 YO and -- very different -- an Ardbeg 10 YO.
Is it advisable to drink a dram from one, followed by a dram from the other -- or is it best to stick with one scotch in an evening?

It is quite OK to sample more than one malt. Remember however that the palate becomes jaded, so no more than 5 say... that's the normal number at tastings.. and cheese and dry crackers between drams will refresh the palate- - - NOT anything frozen - kills the taste buds for ages
